Year THREE! A Farmers Market in Mountain Country!
Welcome to the Star Valley Farmers Market! Believe it or not, lots of great food does grow even here in this challenging environment--though it takes a dedicated kind of farmer to coax it out of this rocky mountain ground. And yes, artisans of all sorts can be found here as well, making good use of the long, cold winters to create various items of utility, beauty, practicality and whimsy.
Many THANKS to all the vendors, non-profit participants, entertainers, educators and especially to our essential purchasers, who knew a good thing when they found it! For our third season, the Farmers Market will again be held on Thursday evenings at Haderlie Farms, just north of Thayne on Hwy 89. To better meet the needs of our customers, we have changed the hours so the Market will be open from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, and because our produce was still going strong, we'll run from July 8th through September 23rd. As in 2008 and 2009, this year's Market will be accompanied by family-friendly local musicians.
We are a group of producers and consumers in Star Valley, Wyoming, working together to build a sustainable economy through strong soils, clean water systems, healthy food and handmade goods shared among neighbors and friends. The value of talking directly with those who know their product so intimately increases every year. Bring your questions, bring your own bags, bring your kids to visit the farm critters--You'll all be glad for the experience!
